About Community Counseling and Mediation

Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) is a neighborhood-based agency providing a range of social welfare, health, educational, vocational, and supportive housing services to at-risk children, youth and families. Founded in 1982 with a mission to respond to the many problems facing poor African American and Latino adolescents and their families, CCM has since evolved into one of the very few NYC organizations combining culturally sensitive mental health services with a range of educational, health and social activities. Our current programming includes: youth development, foster care preventio ... n, conflict resolution training, mental health services, foster care and adoption, substance abuse treatment, and supportive housing. Since day one, the goal has always been to address problems in Brooklyn's most poverty-stricken youth and families by addressing prevention and early intervention. For over 30 years, CCM has been entrenched in Brooklyn's most at-risk and underserved neighborhoods including the Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Brownsville, East New York and Flatbush communities.
