Business Development Director - Prefabricated Modular Construction

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director with nationwide scope to spearhead our expansion efforts in the prefabricated modular construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business growth, building strategic partnerships, and executing comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive aggressive growth strategies aligned with company objectives to penetrate new markets and expand our customer base.
    • Conduct research to identify prospects, including but not limited to target geographies, visionary owners, developers, architects, and general contractors who are committed to building using prefab strategies, upcoming projects from each target, key drivers of target clients that match our value proposition, and competitive landscape.
    • Identify new market/product opportunities and emerging trends in the prefabricated modular construction industry, leveraging market research and industry insights.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and achieve targeted business outcomes.
    • Identify product gaps in the marketplace to steer product development efforts for the company.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to address them.
    • Collaborate closely with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring their satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
    • Ensure proper follow-up on all business opportunities, bids, contracts, and eventual project delivery.
    • Create and manage CRM tools to ensure client satisfaction at all stages of the sales/delivery process.
  • Lead Generation and Sales:
    • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, databases, attending industry events, and leveraging digital marketing channels.
    • Identify and target leaders in target market sectors (i.e. healthcare, hospitality) and manage lead source platforms (i.e. Building Connected) to maximize project visibility.
    • Identify and participate in trade associations to drive business.
    • Drive the sales process from initial contact to contract negotiation and closure, meeting, or exceeding sales targets.
    • Collaborate with project management team to generate appropriate bidding materials and ensure timely delivery of proposals at all project stages.
  • Partnership Development:
    • Identify and forge strategic partnerships with architects, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders to expand our reach and enhance our offerings.
    • Negotiate partnership agreements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and execution.
    • Identify and target ownership groups willing to engage in a programmatic business model.
  • Market Positioning and Brand Awareness:
    • Develop and execute marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility and awareness within the prefabricated modular construction market.
    • Redevelop and manage online presence including but not limited to website, social media channels, and targeted campaigns.
    • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to showcase our capabilities and establish thought leadership.
    • Create targeted materials (presentations, collateral, case studies) that best represent benefits of prefabrication and of Neopod Systems in the marketplace.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Track and analyze sales performance/conversions, market trends, and competitor activities to inform decision-making and optimize business development efforts.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction industry, with a focus on prefabricated modular construction preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex market dynamics and develop actionable plans.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong Excel / Smart Sheets proficiency required.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend events, and explore new markets.
