Summary: The Emergency Services Clinician / Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) working with the community crisis response program will provide direct treatment to individuals in the community who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Crisis response services are intended to help stabilize individuals within their natural environment and avert the need for psychiatric hospitalization. This position will work with youth and adults to provide assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention, and care coordination. Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant human services field from an accredited institution
Active license in Virginia as one of the following:
At least 1 year of relevant work experience or education
Valid US Driver’s License
Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of community mental health and public health to provide advocacy.
Knowledge of the principles, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities, and substance abuse.
Skill to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.
Skills to communicate effectively to facilitate treatment and relay information to others to work as a team.
Skill to perform clinical interviews to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
Ability to present and communicate findings related to consumers to both internal and external audiences.
Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community.
Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment positively and professionally.
Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
Ability to drive. May be called upon to travel to another worksite, transport clients, and provide services to clients at other locations.
Regular training and company meetings attendance may require travel to various sites.
