Description

Functions:

1. Responsible for picking/pulling and delivering parts for parts orders going to the service department.
2. Responsible for picking/pulling parts for parts orders that will be delivered to customers outside of the dealership.
3. Assist the Parts Receiver/Stocker daily in putting away parts for stock.
4. Perform daily restocking of any parts located close to the front counter that counterpersons pull from throughout the day.
5. Ensures parts bins are kept clean and organized and assures bin labels are in proper order daily.

Relationships:

1. Reports directly to the Parts Manager. 
2. Reports indirectly to the Assistant Parts Manager.

Responsibilities and Authority:

• Stock all parts in proper locations.
• Operate a pallet jack or hand truck to move or hoist parts from receiving and out to warehouse and/or shipping areas in a safe manner.
• Re-stock customer returns to their designated locations.
• Pick customer orders accurately and organize the parts in the shipping bins.
• Restocking shelves of fast-moving parts every day.
• Restock filters “consigned” to the Quick Lube Department every day.
• Assisting receiving clerk when needed.
• Empty waste cans, sweep, clean, and cut down cardboard for disposal.
• Maintain at least one parts bin per day by dusting all shelves, making sure each part has a bin label and then counting the bin.
• If requested by the Service Department, return parts cores to the Parts Counter so the core charge can be removed from the Repair Order.
• Take all non-warranty parts cores from the Parts Counter to the appropriate area in the parts warehouse.
• Take all warranty parts cores from the Parts Counter to the appropriate area in the parts warehouse. 
• Take all warranty parts that have been returned to the parts counter to the appropriate area in the parts warehouse.
• Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management.

Qualifications: High School diploma or the equivalent. Basic mathematical and reasoning skills required. Able to read and comprehend instructions and information. One year of experience in an automotive parts department preferred. Professional person appearance. Employee must be able to lift/move 25 lbs. consistently and occasionally up tp 100 lbs. Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be trained and deemed competent to operate forklift under Company's guidelines. 

Working Conditions: This is a physically demanding position. Will move throughout the parts warehouse all day, reaching, lifting, and climbing to obtain parts from inventory. Will stand six to eight hours during a shift. This position requires exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. May drive company owned vehicles.

Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent. Able to read and comprehend instructions and information. Must have computer and phone skills. One year of experience in an automotive parts department preferred but not required. One year of sales experience preferred but not required. Professional personal appearance. Able to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time. Required to wear a dealership-provided uniform. Must have a valid in-state driver’s license and a good driving record.
