We are looking to add a PAWesome person to our team of skilled Pet Care Technicians and Client Care Specialists. This person should have a passion for both dogs and their owners. Although it is not a requirement, previous professional animal care and/or hospitality experience is a plus! We treat our dogs with kindness, respect, and only use the most humane handling techniques possible - the individual we add to our team will need to do the same.

Responsibilities

After our dog handlers are trained, they have the following tasks/responsibilities:

• Keeping the health, safety, and happiness of the dogs in our care the top priority at all times
• Doing what's best for each individual dog in our care
• Communicating clearly and effectively with team members
• Participating in ongoing education (courses, certifications, etc.)
• Creating safe, successful play groups
• Performing "head to tail" checks on dogs to assess overall health
• Leading and interacting with groups of up to 15 dogs
• Leading and interacting with dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Light dog training: rewarding behaviors we want to see more often, practicing some "basics" like sit, place, recall, door manners, and stay, teaching tricks, and following Biscuits guidelines when a dog presents unwanted behaviors
• Setting up enrichment activities
• Preventing altercations between dogs and separating dogs using Biscuits guidelines when necessary
• Presenting dogs to their owners at the end of the day/stay
• Relationship building with owners
• Knowing the dogs, their names, their allergies, medical conditions, and any other information Biscuits deems important
• Making and serving meals
• Giving medications and supplements
• Keeping track of urination and bowel movements
• Making and serving Kongs, lick mats, and other food-based enrichment items
• Cleaning: scooping poop, cleaning up urine, cleaning up vomit, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing and disinfecting, using a wet/dry vacuum system, wiping down windows, doors, and walls, cleaning play equipment, doing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning up messes as seen
• Other tasks/responsibilities as needed or as assigned

Our Client Care Specialists need to have the same priorities when it comes to the care of our dogs. Client Care Specialists are also expected to:

• Take payment and keeping accurate records of payment
• Make regular touch point and check in calls
• Answer phones
• Complete regular vaccination checks
• Sell our services and upsell add-ons
• Perform meet and greets (required evaluations for new dogs)
• Accurately schedule services
• Accurately check dogs in and out in a timely manner
• Bring dogs into and out of our facility following safety guidelines
• Relay important information to managers and owner as needed
• Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
• Build sustainable relationships and trust with clients through open and interactive communication
• Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods/tools
• Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution
• Keep records of customer interactions, update customer accounts, and file documents waivers, and forms
• Take the extra mile to engage customers
• Cleaning: scooping poop, cleaning up urine, cleaning up vomit, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing and disinfecting, using a wet/dry vacuum system, wiping down windows, doors, and walls, other cleaning as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be patient and kind
• Passionate about providing great pet care
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• At least 1 year of experience in dog handling is preferred, but not required
• At least 1 year of hospitality experience is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of dog behavior and training techniques preferred, but not required
