The Dirty Dog Pet Services in Topeka, KS is looking for a Pet Care Technician to join our team.

We are located on 3120 South Kansas Avenue.

NOTE: To apply for this position, you MUST have some sort of professional animal handling experience or animal background. Personal pets do not apply to professional experience. If you don't have professional animal experience, please apply for our Kennel Technician role.

Responsibilities

*Running individual dogs & playgroup in our outdoor and indoor play areas *Completing a variety of pet-related responsibilities including but not limited to: conducting group play evaluations, taking photos of daycare groups and posting them to social media, communicating with pet parents about their pets, etc. *Directing and cooperating with our Kennel Technicians to complete daily tasks *Responsible for making sure all animal lodging is sanitary & safe to house pets *Responsible for making sure all pets' daily needs are met: fresh water, clean bedding, clean kennels, etc. *Communicates effectively with the rest of our team to ensure the highest level of pet safety and quality care

Qualifications

*Animal handling experience necessary to start off in this role *Must be willing to spend a lot of time ensuring facility is sanitary (see below) *Must be able to communicate effectively *Must be willing to learn extensively about dog body language and communication with other dogs *Practical in high-stress situations *Absolutely MUST be comfortable cleaning up a wide range of unpleasant bodily functions (vomit, mucus, feces, saliva, pus, blood, urine, etc.). We work with live animals, and keeping our facility clean and sanitized is a massive part of the job *MUST be willing to work holidays (and sometimes weekends)! Holiday shifts are only a couple of hours. Many people board their pets over the holidays, so they are some of our busiest times!
