Job DescriptionThis position performs basic accounting and operational functions for a regional office of a privately held firm involved primarily in the international merchandising and manufacturing of agricultural commodities and biofuels.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Analyze and explain fluctuations for regional reporting of on-hand inventory, processing volumes, headcount, and industrial fixed and variable costs.
  • Support the budget process performed by operations and accounting by reviewing and analyzing all regional industrial budget data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the industrial facilities through reviewing, analyzing, and auditing industrial controls
  • Prepare monthly industry presentations for regional and global stakeholders by working with facility management and other groups within LDC.
  • Prepare consolidated budget presentations by working with facility supervisors and other groups within LDC.
  • Perform ad hoc requests for analysis and information related to industrial operations.

ExperienceEducation/Professional Certifications/Licenses
  • The following are the basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting.
  • The following is the preferred qualification: Master’s degree (or higher) in accounting or business.
Experience
  • The following are the basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 1 year of related work experience in accounting.
  • The following is the preferred qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3 years work experience in accounting.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including Any Physical Demands)The following are the basic qualifications:
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting practices.
  • Strong practical accounting skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software, (e.g., Excel and MS Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze account variances.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict monthly deadlines.
The following are the preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (advanced Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Strong ability to analyze and explain data.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and propose solutions.
