We are looking for a dedicated Business Development Manager (BDM) to continue the company’s growth and execute broader strategic objectives while supporting market-specific business development objectives. The BDM will perform sales, management, and administrative tasks, such as inbound and outbound lead generation, collaborate with Sales and Operations Team, etc.

To be successful as a BDM, the candidate should have excellent sales and leadership skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Successful candidates will also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of Ascent AeroSystems’ products and how they match to market requirements.

BDM Responsibilities:

Create and manage Outbound sales lead pipeline:

  • Identify clear customer profiles per market segment
  • Build potential new-customer list
  • Collaborate with Marketing to run outbound campaigns
  • Research and identifying potential clients and markets
  • Connect with prospective customers via email, phone calls, or social media.
  • Set up meetings or calls between prospective clients and the sales team.
  • Maintain a database of contact information and sales activity

Create and manage inbound sales lead pipeline:

  • Qualify inbound leads based on criteria and size
  • Coordinate with Marketing to implement strategies that attract customers through content relevant to their needs and interests
  • Support and give feedback to Marketing regarding channel performance
  • Gain an understanding of our demand channels
  • Manage existing channels (keep sold, up-sell)
  • Assist with ad-hoc marketing projects and new initiatives
  • Execute effective lead nurturing
  • Work closely with Account Executive to close sales leads
  • Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
  • Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on product features
  • Follow and achieve department’s goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
  • Collaborate with Marketing on ways to improve sales
  • Research market trends
  • Propose new business opportunities

Educational Qualifications/Skills:

  • BS degree in Business, Marketing or related field a plus, and a minimum of 5 years experience in business development
  • UAS industry experience is a great plus.
  • Strong sales ability, business acumen, and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent time management, strategic planning, and organizational skills
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Associate, Sales Representative or similar role
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Basic Math skills
  • Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Track record of over-achieving sales quota
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Applicable industry knowledge
