Summary of Position:
As the Business Development Director, who is responsible to support the growth strategy of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Practice Group, you are responsible for the generation of new business opportunities as well as maintenance of current client relationships. The market consists of PA, DE, NJ, MD, and VA with a primary focus in and around the Philadelphia regional area. Ideal candidates demonstrate high energy, creativity, and flexibility. The Business Development Director is a self-starter who is willing to work at a dynamic pace and can handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
- Sell Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Project Management services specific to Regional Architecture (Community, Healthcare, Education, Workplace).
- Partner with Business Development team, Market Directors, Sr. Project Director’s and Marketing to coordinate business development strategies.
- Attend industry events including tradeshows and networking events.
- Encourage and participate in business and community activities promoting company services.
- Identify and develop relationships with new clients, associations and business networks.
- Drive lead generation and maintain contact information within the Company’s designated program(s).
- Work directly with the Regional Managing Director, Director of Interior Environments, and Sr. Project Directors to maintain existing client relationships and ensure projects are meeting our clients’ needs.
- Assist with client assignments, tracking and follow-up, and coordinating efforts.
- Actively collaborate with marketing to ensure timely RFP and RFQ responses, submittals, presentation, and proposals related to new prospects and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in relevant field of study
- 10 years business development or marketing experience in an A/E/C environment preferred; specifically, in a Regional Architecture market (Community, Healthcare, Education, Workplace
- Proven experience in a client facing role focused on nurturing existing relationships and cultivating new ones
- Demonstrated understanding of architectural and engineering design process from schematic design through construction for the particular project type
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
Team:
You will work with a team of Designers, Architects and Engineers to support our clients. You will report to the Vice President of Business Development.
Work Location:
This is a hybrid role that can sit out of any of our Philadelphia area offices; Wilmington, DE; Allentown, PA; Philadelphia, PA; or West Chester, PA. Please note that this role may require up to 100% travel based on the location of active projects, client prospects, conferences, networking events, and office visits. Travel may occasionally occur outside of normal work hours.
