LE3 INC is Hiring an Academy Director Near Williamsville, NY

Overview: The Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the Academy. TheDirector is accountable for overall operational management by well-established guidelines, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, and maintaining all OCFS Regulations. The Director ensures that the needs of the students and the center's goals are met appropriately.

Qualifications: the director must hold the qualifications listed in the OCFS Regulation for "Person Responsible for Program Supervision Functions." The Director will be put on the license by name.

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field OR enrolled in an education program that leads to a bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of experience working in childcare, with children, and/or in an educational setting
  • One-year supervising staff members in a childcare program or related field of work
  • Customer service and/or previous work experience
  • Must pass a full background check and health screening

  • Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities: In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, all Directors are expected to perform other reasonable duties or tasks as assigned by the administrative team.

  • Establish a quality vision for the center. Manage adherence to quality standards per the vision and state and local requirements. Maintain quality effectiveness measurements.
  • Develop a general educational curriculum
  • Collaborate with staff to develop positive learning activities
  • Manage adherence to state and local regulations.
  • Work closely with lead teachers and the administration to ensure there is a clear set of lessons and themes being followed in the classrooms.
  • Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
  • Manages the overall organization, flow, and parental interactions of the center.
  • Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation and personal tours
  • Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Resolve conflicts (including corrective action when necessary) to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
  • Establish illness and emergency procedures; ensure staff is trained appropriately.
  • Implement a strategic plan and goals in keeping with the program's mission.
  • The Director covers classrooms as needed.
  • Delegation to Assistant Director and other team members will be required.
    • Ensuring that delegation is being completed fairly and equally amongst all levels of staff.
    • The director maintains communication between the site, District Supervisor, and the main office.

Training Expectations: There is mandatory training that must be completed at hiring and on an annual basis in order to maintain a position with LE3. All training completed outside of working hours will be paid for by LE3 (time and cost of course).Create and maintain an accurate and up-to-date profile in The Aspire Registry. It documents your education, training, and experience.

Hours:Monday-Friday. 9:00 am-5:00 pm Five days per week minimum

Working Conditions: Most buildings cover the following working conditions:

  • Exposures encountered: many LE3 programs have varying noise levels depending on the day, time of year, and activity. Outside of noise level, most sense exposures are common. There are times in which lessons/crafts require extra hands and supervision due to being messy
  • Essential physical requirements are not limited to but include walking, running, climbing stairs and playground structures, squatting/sitting on the floor, and standing for a minimum of five hours.
  • Regularly uses fingers to feel, type, and assist using fine motor skills to tie shoes, zip coats, etc.
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing, required to switch communication styles based on audience.
  • Physical effort/lifting/carrying: up to 20 pounds
