LE3 INC is Hiring a Line Cook Near Williamsville, NY

Overview: The Line Cook & Delivery Driver is a support position for the Kitchen Team. This position reports to the Head Chef and has no direct reports. The Line Cook will assist with the day-to-day preparation, serving, and cleanup of all meals made in the HIVE 716 Kitchen. This position also delivers lunches daily as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant or kitchen.
  • Understanding of basic food safety.
  • Demonstration of basic culinary skills and execution.
  • Commitment to teamwork and quality service.
  • Valid Driver’s License and functioning vehicle.

Job Expectations:

  • Complete prep work as directed by supervisory chefs for service and distribution.
  • Set up stations with mise-en-place for both lunch and dinner service.
  • Receive and stock inventory on delivery days as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper usage of kitchen equipment, utensils, and stations.
  • Accurately organize and pack daily lunch and next-day breakfast and snack for individual LE3 Academy locations as on-site Directors order.
  • Cook menu items as ordered by HIVE 716 customers.
  • Deliver breakfast, snack, and lunch items to LE3 Academy locations as needed.
  • Serve meals as requested for catering and special event orders and service.
  • Comply with all sanitation and safety regulations and standards.
  • Strict adherence and notification of all child and family allergies in compliance with OCFS.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, students, families, and customers.
  • Display excellent time management and communication skills with kitchen team.

Training Expectations:

  • Complete all OCFS and regulatory paperwork and training hours, including but not limited to, NYS Fingerprinting and Background Clearances, CPR & First Aid training, Safe Serve, and continued professional development. 

Hours:

  • Monday- Friday: 8:00 am-5:00pm.
  • Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required for catering and special event orders.

Child Facing: There will be times in which meals are delivered to and/or served directly to children. 

Report: This position reports directly to the Food Service Director.

Working Conditions: Most buildings cover the following working conditions:

  • Environment: Indoor spaces require using stairs, large gym spaces, outside playgrounds, and uneven sidewalks to travel along for nature walks
  • Exposures encountered: Many LE3 programs have varying noise levels depending on the day, time of year, and activity. Outside of noise level, most sense exposures are common. There are times in which lessons/crafts require extra hands and supervision due to being messy
  • Essential physical requirements are not limited to walking, running, climbing stairs and playground structures, squatting/sitting on the floor, and standing for a minimum of five hours.
  • Regularly uses fingers to feel, type, and assist using fine motor skills to tie shoes, zip coats, etc.
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing, required to switch communication styles based on audience.
  • Physical effort/lifting/carrying: up to 20 pounds
