Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Hybrid - Vienna, VA
Job Type: Direct Hire
This vital role, based in Vienna, VA, entails comprehensive support for multiple clients across operational accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations. You'll play a crucial part in preparing monthly financial packages and handling annual tasks such as Incurred Cost Submission and 1099 preparation. We seek proficiency in Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks, and project accounting, with a preference for a CPA license. US citizenship is required, and we offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Execute day-to-day and month-end close entries, including revenue, payroll, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
- Perform complex reconciliations for various balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Aid in the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of each client's accounting operations and software.
- Assist external auditors and tax accountants, including preparing schedules and explanations.
- Contribute to the preparation of year-end 1099 submissions.
- Recommend, design, and implement department controls and procedures.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients.
- Supervise and review the work of staff accountants, providing guidance and support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, plus relevant experience.
- 3 years of accounting experience with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical abilities.
- Proactive, deadline-driven, and responsive to client needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and government contracting regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Ethical, positive, and composed under pressure.
