Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is Hiring a Senior Accountant (Nonprofit) Near Vienna, VA

Our client - one of the largest assurance, tax and advisory firms in the U.S., is hiring for a Senior Accountant to join their nonprofit outsourced accounting and consulting team. This role is open due to growth. Compensation is in the range of $80,000 - $100,000 based on experience. ** This role can be remote but there will be times when coming into the Vienna, VA office will be needed. This will not be a weekly or monthly occurrence but with notice the ideal candidate should be able and comfortable appearing in the Vienna, VA office if needed. Outsourced Accounting is doing operation accounting ( GL, A/P, A/R, reconciliation, month end close ) for multiple clients. This is a fast paced environment where you will have to juggle multiple items and projects daily. Those who thrive here are hard workers, efficient, and problem solvers. Responsibilities / Duties
  • Responsible for month end closing processes including approval of journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting account analysis.
  •  Produces timely and accurate financial statements, compliant with generally accepted accounting principles, meeting corporate reporting requirements.
  •  Participates in or directs the development of accounting policy and administers approved internal controls, accounting procedures and workflows.
  • Manages operational data and ensuring data integrity/accuracy, developing proper documentation, internal control and troubleshooting procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license is preferred
  • 3-6 years of Accounting/Finance experience
  • Prior experience working with Nonprofit or Commercial industry
  • Mixture of public accounting and corporate accounting experience
  • Desire to be in fast growth environment and in a high visibility position
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and or Finance
