Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts, excellent data entry skills, and experience with payroll management systems.
Duties:
- Process invoices and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any payment or invoice issues
- Assist with the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., UltiPro, Ceridian) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Familiarity with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with ADP or other payroll management systems is a plus
