Alert-Tech Systems, Inc is Hiring an Accountant/Bookkeeper Near Valdosta, GA

Alert-Tech Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of security solutions, specializing in alarm monitoring, access control, and surveillance services. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to oversee various accounting functions, including general bookkeeping, inventory accounting, and purchasing duties.

Accountant Job Duties:

  • Maintains financial records for subsidiary companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
  • Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
  • Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
  • Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Purchases equipment and maintains inventory items. Works with technical department and other staff members.

Accountant Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Must be able to accurately and effectively process high volumes of work in a timely manner.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
