We are opening an opportunity for an individual to join our team as a Human Resources Assistant in Salinas, California. The role is centered around providing administrative support to the Human Resources department, assisting in the recruitment and selection process, and maintaining our automated record-keeping system. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities:• Serve as office receptionist, screening callers, taking messages, and forwarding calls to appropriate personnel.• Greet the public as necessary, provide routine information related to personnel and the application process, job openings, and other information.• Assist in the recruitment and selection process, recommend process changes, revise and update hiring materials, and assure compliance with College requirements.• Provide a variety of administrative support to the Human Resources department, compile and review data for various reports, create and revise forms, and distribute employment information.• Provide support in the collective bargaining process, provide technical input on contract language, and conduct surveys for use in negotiations.• Maintain automated record-keeping system, input information from forms into the system, and maintain database information for terminated employees.• Respond to routine inquiries from other colleges regarding classification and salary information, negotiation status, and employee information according to established procedures.• Perform office support work related to the Human Resources office, provide information regarding open positions.• Utilize HRMS, About Time, Benefit Functions, Compensation Administration, Compliance, and Employee Relations skills to perform tasks effectively and efficiently.
