Hopkins School, a 364-year old co-ed independent school for 715 students in grades 7-12 located in New Haven, CT, seeks an experienced and dynamic professional to serve as Director of Human Resources, a pivotal role that supports Hopkins faculty and staff and the strong sense of community at the school. The ideal Director has a passion for education, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and a proven track record of building and sustaining a positive and supportive work culture. Overseeing human resources management for 185 full-time and 165 per diem and seasonal employees, the Director works to ensure that the school’s staffing structure and practices optimally support Hopkins’ mission and strategic plan. Specific areas of oversight include compensation, payroll, benefits, and leaves; (in collaboration with the Dean of Faculty) recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and departures; professional development and annual evaluation of staff; employee relations; and compliance with labor regulations and employment laws, including FLSA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, and COBRA.
