Hopkins School is Hiring a Full Time Spanish Teacher Near New Haven, CT

Hopkins School, an independent, gender-inclusive, college-preparatory day school in New Haven, Connecticut serving 715 students in grades 7-12, is seeking a full-time Spanish Teacher.

The faculty and staff at Hopkins are motivated by working with young people to instill a love of learning not only in their respective fields but also in the broader community. Faculty and staff are committed to this work and to continuing to develop their own cultural competency in support of the school's mission.

The position includes teaching a combination of high school Spanish sections. Full-time faculty members typically serve as an adviser for a group of 6-8 students in one grade; attend department, grade-level adviser, and faculty meetings (some of which occur before or after the school day); maintain verbal and written professional contact with students, colleagues, and families; serve on one faculty committee; chaperone after-school student events; participate in the broader life of the school; and, support the school community by setting a positive example in all areas of school life and upholding and enforcing school rules and procedures.

A bachelor's degree in Spanish or a related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred. Secondary school teaching experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with post-secondary teaching experience will be considered.
