The HR Director is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of human resources and payroll within the nursing home facility. This role ensures the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures, compliance with state and federal regulations, and the creation of a positive work environment that supports staff recruitment, retention, and development. The HR Director will collaborate with other department heads to support the overall mission of providing high-quality care to residents. Must have 2 years Nursing Home Director experience in HR and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:

    • Lead and manage the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
    • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the facility’s overall goals.
    • Supervise HR staff and provide guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  2. Recruitment and Staffing:

    • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and selection.
    • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to integrate new hires smoothly.
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop workforce plans.
  3. Employee Relations:

    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
    • Address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
    • Implement programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  4. Compliance and Policy Management:

    • Ensure compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations.
    • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures regularly.
    • Prepare for and participate in regulatory audits and inspections.
  5. Training and Development:

    • Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Coordinate mandatory training sessions and continuing education opportunities.
    • Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
  6. Performance Management:

    • Oversee the performance appraisal process and ensure consistent and fair evaluations.
    • Develop performance improvement plans and support managers in addressing performance issues.
    • Recognize and reward employee achievements and contributions.
  7. Compensation and Benefits:

    • Manage the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    • Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.
    • Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  8. Health and Safety:

    • Promote a safe working environment and oversee the implementation of health and safety programs.
    • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
    • Address workplace injuries and coordinate with insurance providers and healthcare professionals.
  9. Data Management and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
    • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making.
    • Utilize HR software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Nursing Home state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2 years Experience as HR and payroll Director in a Nursing Home

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment within the nursing home facility.
  • The HR Director may need to travel occasionally for training and professional development.
  • The role requires interaction with staff, residents, and external partners, necessitating excellent interpersonal skills.
