The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) invites applications for the position of Community Services Manager. A Community Services Manager plans, develops, promotes, implements, manages and evaluates a large, diversified community services program which includes recreational, cultural, non-credit educational, and special interest courses, activities, and events for a college.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Monthly Salary: $8,317.90 - $10,814.80* ($99,814.80-$123,653.04 annually)
*Salary Information is based on a full-time, 12-month position
Health Benefits: District-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for employee and dependents. A $50,000 life insurance policy is provided free of charge for each employee. A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) with $1,500 contributed by LACCD annually.
Paid Time Off: 12 full-pay days and 88 half-pay days of illness leave per year, at least 16 paid holidays per year, and accrued vacation time from 10-24 days per year depending on the position. Other paid time off options are also available.
Retirement: Employees become members of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) pension. Employees are also covered by Social Security.

TYPICAL DUTIES
Plans, develops, directs and evaluates a large diversified program of community services which includes recreational, cultural, non-credit educational and special interest courses, activities and events.
Coordinates and/or participates in the collection and assessment of a variety of data related to community needs and interests and develops innovative programs and activities based on these assessments.
Establishes operational policies and procedures of program in accordance with federal, state, District, and college regulations and policies pertaining to community service and specially funded programs..
Interprets complex policies, rules and regulations, and operational procedures to students, faculty, administration, and staff associated with community services.
Coordinates community services projects and activities with existing programs and services.
Develops and maintains the program budget.
Establishes financial, staffing, facilities, and equipment requirements based on program needs, available resources, and profitability requirements.
Establishes and maintains liaison with community leaders, community organizations, and public agencies to encourage participation and to stimulate interest in the college's community service programs.
Attends and participates in professional conferences and meetings concerned with community services programs.
Develops and conducts in-service training for community services program personnel.
Recruits, interviews, selects, and supervises instructors and assigned staff.
Provides technical and professional expertise to college administrators on community services and related matters.
Prepares news releases, catalogs, brochures, and public service announcements to promote program offerings.
Prepares comprehensive reports and presentations related to community services.
Negotiates and prepares contracts for the lease of various facilities.
Supervises the maintenance of program files and records.
Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university.
AND
Four years of full-time, paid experience in developing and implementing a diversified community-oriented recreational, cultural, educational, or special interest program. Supervisory experience within this program is desirable.
Special:
A valid Class “C” California driver’s license is required. Travel throughout the District is required.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process may consist of one or more exam parts which may include a training and experience evaluation, written test, performance test and/or oral interview.
Selection and promotion are based on a competitive examination process. Candidates who pass all exam parts are placed on an eligibility (hiring) list based on their overall exam score. In accordance with legal requirements, hiring departments may make job offers to candidates in the top three ranks of the eligibility list.
