An award winning teaching hospital is searching for a strong, experienced Surgical Services Nurse Manager to lead this tenured department in the beautiful rural Northern California.

The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will join an amazing non-profit teaching hospital that has been recognized as one of America's best hospitals for patient satisfaction. This 160 bed facility’s goal is to enhance quality patient care within it's community.

The Surgical Services Manager will report to the Administrative Nursing Director of Preoperative services. This person will be supported by two CNOR Operating Room Assistant Nurse Managers, as well as a tenured and experienced team of Surgery Charge RNs. 

The energy in this 9-OR Surgical Services Unit can only be described as fast-paced, which makes the support that everyone offers that much more important. Preoperative Services has earned great distinction for its General Surgery services line, and the new Nurse Manager will have the opportunity to manage that program, as well as many others. The Surgery Department participates in a wide range of specialties, including Cardiothoracic, Orthopedic, and GYN.

The Surgical Services Nurse Manager is expected to have knowledge on the principles and practices of Preoperative Nursing and Patient Care. The Manager will be responsible for serving as a role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making processes, delegating, and communicating information to the nursing staff. The Surgical Services Nurse Manager will develop clear performance expectations and resolve performance problems. In addition to these aspects, the Manager will also help develop and maintain the departmental budget, as well as regulatory compliance.
