Overview

The IT Help Desk Technician will provide support to users of the organization’s technical products or services. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our employees have seamless access to technology, resolving problems promptly and will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. The position will be fully on-site in Madison or La Crosse, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Identify, investigate, and research technical problems.
  • Manage IT tickets by responding to requests, updating tickets, and escalating when necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT team to analyze existing workflows and propose solutions for continuous process improvement.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Walk users through problem-solving steps and provide clear instructions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer system applications.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Document technical issues, solutions, and processes for future references.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in technology.
  • Collaborate with the IT team members to implement and improve IT processes and procedures.
  • Occasional travel up to 10% of time.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in computer science or information technology preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of security best practice and ability to implement.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and written / verbal communication skills
