Baby2Baby is Hiring a Development Coordinator Near Los Angeles, CA

Reports to – Director of Development

Organization Overview

Baby2Baby provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing, and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. In the last 13 years, Baby2Baby has distributed over 450 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools as well as children who have lost everything in the wake of disaster. Baby2Baby is reaching one million children annually across all 50 states.

Position Overview

Baby2Baby is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic Development Coordinator to join its development team. This position is ideal for an early-career professional with experience in the systems associated with running an expanding fundraising program. We are seeking someone who wants to own a core function of a small and tight-knit team.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will handle the administrative aspects of fundraising and donor development. This individual will assist with donor relations and solicitation materials, support in research and create prospect profiles, support grant calendar and reporting, and help the department reach their fundraising goals.

The Development Coordinator will work Monday-Friday at 5830 W. Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90016. The work is performed in an office setting and is currently on site 3 – 5 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and updates profiles on current and prospective donors using screening tools and online searches.
  • Assists with preparation for donor meetings and special events, as needed.Maintains and organizes donor and campaign solicitation materials.
  • Takes meeting notes and circulates next steps, writes call reports for Senior Director of Development, and updates the database with development activities.
  • Monitors and assists with setup of online fundraising pages (Classy), oversee reconciling with database records and help troubleshooting user issues when needed.
  • Supports team on aspects of tracking incoming donations and CRM management including entering offline donations, updating donor information, and creating reports as needed. Participates in ongoing training of CRM management with the Senior Development Coordinator.
  • Monitors email for the department and provides timely responses or forwards to the appropriate people to handle.
  • Provides office support as needed including preparing for donor visits and meetings with room setup and material preparation.
  • Support departments formal grant portfolio by liaising with grant writing team and tracking all reporting guidelines.
  • Assist Senior Director of Development with larger projects, including relationships with outside fundraising consultants.
  • Assists Gala fundraising by managing guest list and attendee information, tracking communications, and supporting overall fundraising goal of the annual Gala. This also includes the creation of event collateral such as the tribute book, auction book, online bidding and more.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field

  • of 3 years nonprofit office experience, preferably in fundraising and development.
  • computer skills including knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite; experience with CRM databases, preferred.
