Arts Education Connection San Diego (AECsd) was established in 1963 as a nonprofit corporation in the State of California and has emerged as a statewide leader in creating outstanding arts-in-education programs.
AECsd selects superior professional musicians, dancers, actors, visual artists, writers, and storytellers who are skilled in communication and standards.
Our purpose is championing that every act of art counts. As a connection between Arts and Education, we show the ripple effect of what art can do for local students.
We believe in the dreams that students, teachers, and administrators have that art fosters, and keeps alive, as well as what dreams we, at AECsd, and our talented professional teaching artists have.
Our focus continues to be ensuring that art leads conversations. We strive for arts in every classroom and believe that arts are essential, learning is critical, and art in learning is transformative.
As a voting member of the corporation, each director of Arts Education Connection has full authority and responsibility to act in accordance with California nonprofit corporation law, meeting standards of conduct described as the duties of care, loyalty, and obedience.
