This position will represent Japan Airlines (JAL) as a Passenger Service Representative at Los Angeles International Airport by providing superb quality services to our passengers. Responsibilities include performing arrival/departure duties, check-in, escorting passengers, VIP, gate handling, VIP lounge handling, supervise our partner flight handling company staff and other necessary passenger handling. The position is full-time and offers competitive health and vacation benefits.

Job Duties:

• Issues and responds to Service Irregularity Reports (SIM) and catering reports (SCR)
• Trains and provides guidance to the entrustment company staff
• Welcomes arriving passengers at the gate and assists them with immigration and customs as needed
• Assists customers with missing baggage (LL) by looking for baggage and communicating with CBP as necessary
• Checks-in passengers by checking baggage, verifying and clearing travel documents, and processing excess baggage charges
• Performs departure gate duties such as crew escort, gate announcements, seat upgrades, etc. to ensure smooth boarding process
• Performs Travel Assistance Service (TAS) duties by escorting passengers, including minors, for arrival and departure
• Operate passenger boarding bridges, and opening/closing aircraft doors (LAX)
• Performs flight preparation including PREP/CNTRL checklist review (take over of next day flight, confirm flight information, confirm seat adjustments), verifying special cases detailed on the briefing sheet, printing the seat map, and confirming dead head counts from crew count sheets

Minimum Requirements:

• Available to work weekends and holidays
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS office products such as Google Work Space, Word, & Excel
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa support available)
• Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to obtain airport badge with US Customs clearance
• Amadeus Altea System
• Computer skills: Microsoft and Google suite
• Must be able to pass JAL Dangerous Goods (DG) test
• Ability to obtain a jet bridge operation license
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Must be able to travel occasionally as requested
• Able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous experience in the airline passenger service handling is preferable
• Japanese language skill is preferable
• Knowledge in Amadeus Check In /Reservation system preferred
