WSSC Water is Hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist (Recruiter) Near Laurel, MD
- Provides consultative services to hiring managers and other HR professionals in the areas recruiting, screening and talent acquisition
- Reviews staffing requests and develops appropriate sourcing and staffing strategies that meet the clients’ objectives
- Reviews resumes and job applications in order to determine if work history, education, training, knowledge, experience, job skills, abilities, and salary expectations meet the job requirements
- Pre-screens and forwards qualified applicants to the hiring manager and/or selection panels
- Works with hiring managers in establishing additional selection criteria to more effectively select the best qualified candidates
- Performs salary analysis and negotiates salary offers with applicants
- Performs all tasks and job functions in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Attends job fairs, hiring events, and similar activities
- May assess the effectiveness and efficiency of present or new staffing programs and technologies
- Conducts training workshops for hiring managers and other WSSC Water employees
- May support new employee on-boarding and orientation
- Performs other related duties as required
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and best practices of talent acquisition, including applicable federal, state and local laws
- Working knowledge of human resources management, business administration and project management
- Ability to work cooperatively with peers and supervisors in a team-based environment
- Ability to make independent decisions, solve problems and implement those decisions
- Ability to exercise sound judgment; ability to use standard office automation software
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience recruiting for a variety of professions and skill sets, with demonstrated ability using full lifecycle recruiting processes
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and 9 years experience recruiting for a variety of professions and skill sets, with demonstrated ability using full lifecycle recruiting processes
