Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce is Hiring an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist Near Holdrege, NE

We have an opportunity for an administrative assistant who loves the Holdrege area and is passionate about seeing our community thrive. We are looking for an Administrative Assistant who is genuinely welcoming, optimistic, and eager to assist with membership and economic growth, mindful of various community perspectives, and is true to the Chamber’s mission and vision. The Administrative Assistant will also be a steward of our membership services, tourism/business directory, assist with bookkeeping duties, and keep us organized while following strong office procedures. We know the details can make a difference. That’s why, this newly created part-time position is a critical part of seeing the Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce accomplish its mission.

Our Administrative Assistant Will:

  • Deliver welcoming service to Chamber members, the team, the community, and visitors in person, on the phone, or through digital means;
  • Keep regular contact with Chamber members and regional businesses to maintain accurate records and receive feedback;
  • Accurately maintain the organization’s documents, meeting minutes, event and program materials, and all other related documents to the Chamber;
  • Perform some bookkeeping duties, filing financial documents, making bank deposits, and assisting with the Chamber Checks program;
  • Assist CEO and effectively collaborate with team members for seamless, efficient, and team-oriented work;
  • Engage in building relationships with members and stakeholders within the community; and
  • Have or be willing to attain a strong understanding of local businesses, tourism locations, and the region in general.

We are Looking for a Business-Savvy Professional Who:

  • Possesses a high school diploma or G.E.D.; a two or four-year degree in business administration, business technology, or related discipline is preferred, but not required.
  • Has at least 2 years experience in a related field showing well-developed skills and ability to follow procedures, preferably in a non-profit environment;
  • Promotes a positive impression and inviting environment through welcoming service;
  • Works independently on regularly performed duties, is a self-starter, dependable, flexible, and discreet;
  • Is fast-paced, but is also meticulous about details in written and oral communication, and numerical data;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams to drive results;
  • Follows and develops efficient office procedures and principles of record-keeping;
  • Is proficient and/or willing to achieve proficiency with basic office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, cloud servers), Quickbooks, Chambermaster, Discover 37, Canva, and standard office equipment; and
  • Has a growth mindset to achieve personal, professional, and organizational goals

What’s In It For You

Convenient, part-time schedule with a $13-17/hour pay rate based on experience. Reports to the CEO. Equal Opportunity Employer.
