Job Description

Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc. (WEST), a dynamic medium size consulting firm with offices across the United States, is looking for a full-time regular employee to serve as a Business Development Coordinator in our Golden Valley, Minnesota office (other offices or a remote location will also be considered).

The minimum base salary for this position is $52,000 and the maximum is $70,000, plus annual bonus. Salary may vary based on education, knowledge and experience.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will have experience in environmental consulting, sales, marketing, proposal preparation or management, and/or business development, and be passionate in helping WEST to succeed. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and have previous experience successfully collaborating across diverse teams. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of WEST's overall business development strategy, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with technical teams to gain a deep understanding of the services the company offers and support the development of strategic business plans to grow and diversify WEST’s business.
  • Support the use of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of leads, opportunities, and interactions with potential and existing clients.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and emerging opportunities within the environmental consulting sector.
  • Collaborate with WEST’s marketing team to support key proposal and project pursuits as well as develop and execute marketing campaigns to enhance the company's brand visibility.
  • Identify and help explore potential strategic partnerships that can enhance WEST's service offerings or expand its reach in the market.
  • Track and analyze business development metrics including proposal win/loss rates and net service revenue arising from strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports for WEST’s senior management to assess business development progress and make data-driven decisions.
  • Assist with various other marketing and business development activities as needed, including supporting training initiatives, client satisfaction surveys, etc.

Job Requirements

Requirements: 

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the natural resource field, marketing, or business development, or equivalent or a combination of equivalent education and experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Three or more years of experience in consulting, environmental work, or marketing/business development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ideally, experience with Deltek Vantagepoint CRM. Willingness to learn new applications and software quickly.
  • Ability to follow instructions from managers and accept guidance and constructive criticism.

After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre- employment background check, drug screening, and a DMV records check that meets WEST’s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver’s license will be required.
