We are searching for a full-time clerk to join our team and assist in servicing our client in Glenview. We provide monthly accounting services for police and firefighter pension funds. The staff accountant will be responsible for bank reconciliations, the compilation of monthly reporting, the preparation of year-end financial statements, journal entries and other accounting duties as assigned. This position acts as a liaison between our firm and the Pension Board.

Essential job duties:
- Assemble, review, and verify invoices and check requests
- Enter and upload invoices into system
- Set invoices up for payment
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Continuous improvement for the accounts payable process
Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- 1-3 years’ of experience in accounts payable or general accounting experience.
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail with quality work
- Good time management skills
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel experience
