City of Fort Worth is Hiring a Sr. Accountant Near Fort Worth, TX
A Sr. Accountant job is available with the City of Fort Worth Development Services Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is a team player and can thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience working with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
- General ledger & capital project experience.
- Experience working in a State or Local Government environment.
- Perform large & complex account reconciliations.
- Assist with projecting revenue for approximately 90 accounts, 900 fees. Monitor general ledger accounts, and review/approve/post journal entries.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist during the City’s independent financial and single audits.
- Support internal/external customers and City departments to resolve accounting issues, and any other duties that may be assigned.
Physical DemandsLight Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls Page 4 of 4 requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
