JOB SUMMARY

As a Logistics Coordinator in Fairfield, OH, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to our customers.

This includes careful planning, monitoring driver performance and equipment condition, and effectively managing expenses in a constantly changing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize available technology and control features to closely monitor driver performance
• Maintain detailed records of driver pay, equipment maintenance, and equipment performance
• Review driver logs and paperwork to ensure compliance with policy and DOT regulations
• Monitor equipment to ensure safe operation and minimize breakdowns
• Order necessary parts and equipment for drivers
• Review routing and make necessary adjustments for optimal efficiency
• Hire, train, direct, and discipline transportation personnel for efficient use of resources
• Schedule work assignments for transportation personnel
• Process weekly payroll
• Verify vendor invoices and complete A / P vouchers
• Monitor trip records and fuel reports for mileage, fuel costs, and fuel economy
• Manage monthly expenses and make necessary changes
• Comply with Department of Transportation requirements
• Perform additional duties assigned by Management
• Ensure safety practices in the department and distribution center
• Oversee driver observations for safe operations and accurate delivery procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

High school diploma / GED

Experience :

• 4 - 8 years of transportation experience
• 4-year degree plus 4 years of transportation supervisory experience preferred, with knowledge of computer systems, routing, and DOT regulations
• Strong employee relations skills

Physical Demands :

• Primarily sedentary work, but may involve standing, bending, and key entry
• Clear communication ability, including telephone communication
• Possible driving and unloading of products weighing up to 75 lbs
• Ability to move product using a 2-wheeler

Mental / Visual Demands :

• Read text at various distances with or without correction
• Constant alertness while driving
• Perform manual tasks, hear, sit, reach, and interact with others

Working Conditions :

Activities occur both indoors and outdoors, with protection from weather conditions but not temperature changes

Equipment Operated :

PC, CRT, Microsoft Office applications, and telephone equipment

License or Certifications :

None required, but CDL driver's license and DOT regulations training preferred
