Overview:
The Childcare Network of Evanston's mission is to connect all of our youngest learners and their families to equitable, high-quality early childhood experiences that reflect diverse cultures and abilities which foster a sense of belonging.
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable part-time Human Resources Manager to join our team. As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management and compliance with employment labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making job offers
- Oversee employee onboarding and orientation programs
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
- Handle employee relations issues and conduct investigations as necessary
- Oversee the performance management system to drive employee engagement and productivity
- Maintain accurate HR records
- Participate in CNE's Human Resources Committee
- Stay up-to-date with changes in employment labor laws and Head Start HR requirements to ensure compliance in all HR practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, preferably in a non-profit setting; PHR or SHRM-CP, preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR management roles
- Strong knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proven experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee evaluation processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrates respect and acceptance of diverse individuals and communities served by, working in partnership with or employed by Childcare Network of Evanston but not limited to race, gender, ethnicity, social-economic status, and LGBTQ populations
