Before opening her consulting practice, she served as an executive director, assistant vice president and VP of philanthropy as well as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University. Ms. Canning has 20 years of nonprofit expertise. The intern will gain valuable experience and exposure to the nonprofit and philanthropic sector in this position.
About the Position
MCC is in search of a summer intern for hybrid (remote and in-person) part time work. Reporting directly to the Founder and Principle, the MCC intern will play a key role in managing day-to-day operations, as well as being involved in supporting the organization’s long-term strategic goals. The staff includes one full-time employee and one part-time employee.
Essential Duties
Office Management: Oversee the daily operations of the MCC office, including, responding to inquiries, scheduling, communicating with clients, preparing invoices, organizing files and records, etc.
Social Media: Coordinate and implement the social media efforts of MCC (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
Qualifications
• Proven attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
• Exemplary organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Zoom, and Google Suite
• Social media fluency, primarily LinkedIn
• Ability to work well independently and in a support position
Hours & Location
The internship will be comprised of 20 hours weekly, primarily taking place at Ms. Canning’s home office (Linscott Way in Brunswick, ME). The daily schedule is flexible and may allow some time for remote work.
Opportunity ideally starts June 17, apply even if date to begin is later. Flexible Hours.
Compensation
$20 per hour
