Job Description

  • Position: Human Resources Generalist
  • Pay Range: $26-30/hour
  • Reports to:Human Resources Manager, Vice President Human Resources
  • Work type: In office

POSISTION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist manages the daily operations of the HR department, which includes a variety of tasks, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and/or HR certifications preferred.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  8. Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
  10. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization HRIS and talent management systems.
  11. Must be Bilingual Spanish.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Write employment letters as needed.
  2. Provides expertise on a broad and comprehensive range of human resource activities, including compensation, performance management, talent development, policy compliance, etc.
  3. Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance the department’s operations, procedures, and policies.
  4. Maintains knowledge of policies, processes, and resources as well as all applicable state, federal and local laws.
  5. Planning Employee recognition lunches and awards
  6. In charge of creating and rolling out monthly newsletter
  7. Rollout of all department communications through Constant Contact.
  8. Creating and sending out employee badges
  9. Counsel, coach, advise and train managers on HR issues, regulations, and responsibilities.
  10. Works in conjunction with the rest of the HR department in performing clerical and other HR duties.
  11. Research, analyze, and administer healthcare plans and wellness programs, from medical and dental benefits to disability and family leave.
  12. Assist with the administration of all benefits programs.
  13. Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollment.
  14. Assist with the open enrollment process.
  15. Conduct monthly benefit audits.
  16. Reconcile benefit payments on a weekly basis.
  17. Process COBRA and be proficient in assisting terminated employees with COBRA related questions.
  18. Evaluates and compares existing benefit plans.
  19. Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs.
  20. Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences & disabilities.
  21. Work with vendors and act as a liaison with insurance carriers.
  22. Ensure accurate pay and monitor benefit premium(s) payments for employees on leave of absences (FMLA, PDL, PFL, CFRA, and ADA)
  23. Ensures retirement plans are administered in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
  24. Plan, assess, and maintain record of tuition reimbursement for employees.
  25. Design and maintain a salary cap scale for all employees.
  26. Act as a liaison with workers comp brokers.
