Job Title: RN Manager of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Job Summary:

The RN Manager of the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) is a critical leadership role responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the CVOR team to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise in cardiovascular surgery, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in surgical services. The RN Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the CVOR, including staffing, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the CVOR nursing and support staff.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure consistent and high-quality patient care.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Clinical Oversight:
  • Ensure the CVOR team is well-prepared and equipped for all cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Participate in patient care as needed, providing expert guidance and support to the surgical team.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvement initiatives to enhance care quality.
  • Staff Development:
  • Recruit, hire, and train CVOR staff, ensuring all team members are competent and confident in their roles.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Mentor and support staff in their professional growth and career advancement.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of surgical cases to optimize efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Manage the CVOR budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment, to ensure financial responsibility.
  • Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Improvement:
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and surgical outcomes.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues or concerns related to patient care or operational processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong clinical knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and patient care.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare technologies.
