Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Athens, GA. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in perioperative nursing, ensuring the highest standard of patient care during surgical procedures. As an integral member of our surgical team, the OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and sterile environment during all phases of surgery.
• Assess patient needs and formulate individualized nursing care plans in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and response to surgical interventions, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by physicians.
• Assist in surgical procedures by anticipating and providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Educate patients and their families about pre-operative and post-operative care, including potential risks and complications.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques in the operating room.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and adhere to regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing, preferably in an operating room setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of current trends and advances in perioperative nursing.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position with flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
