RESTORATIVE AIDE
REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR OF NURSING
GENERAL PURPOSES :
To provide routine restorative nursing care tasks under the direction of a Licensed Nurse or therapist, and to function as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
RESTORATIVE NURSING FUNCTION :
Directs or assists residents in transfer techniques to walk or use walkers, and with range of motion and activities; coordinates or assists with other restorative functions;
evaluates progress and documents daily; and participates in care plan meetings.
PERSONAL CARE, NURSING CARE AND FOOD SERVICE FUNCTION :
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of linens, and positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc.
with resident’s recreation programs. Prepares residents meals and snacks. Assist residents in eating where needed and records food intake.
Reads and follows daily care plans; reports changes in resident condition to Nurse in charge; documents care provision on resident record / flow sheets as required and reports accidents and incidents;
and provides nursing functions as directed by supervisor.
OTHER DUTIES :
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing with the state.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
