Your role as a Sushi Chef at Great Southern Restaurants (GSR) is imperative to the smooth operation of the kitchen and satisfaction of our guests. It is our goal to train you extensively in how to perform your job, and to provide you with the necessary tools and equipment to complete your daily duties.

What you’ll be doing to make an impact at GSRs: 

• Preparing a variety of sushi dishes following modern recipes.
• Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service.
• Comfortability with sushi rolling, plating, and related cooking techniques.
• Meeting quality standards in the preparation and presentation of food by adhering to portion standards and demonstrating cost awareness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar and kitchen area.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• At least 1 year of experience handling sushi.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to:
  1. Standing and walking during an entire shift, averaging 8 hours per shift.
  2. Reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, and carrying supplies up to 50 pounds in weight.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight on a regular basis.
• A team player’s mentality with good communication skills and the ability to stay positive.
