HR Generalist

The HR Generalist plays a valued role in talent acquisition, employee relations, retention and engagement, compensation and benefits, payroll, and other HR responsibilities. The HR Generalist will also support and champion “The GVS Way”, which has historically supported the strength and success of GVS.

Annual compensation and bonus structure is commensurate with relevant job experience. This position reports to the President, Chief Financial Officer.

This is an in-office-based opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate talent acquisition process including job description preparation, position posting, candidate screening, offer letters and pre-employment documents.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, education of new hires on HR policies and internal procedures, maintaining employee personnel files.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics.
  • Coordinate offboarding, preparing documents and exit interviews.
  • Administer compensation, benefit plans and Paid Time Off.
  • Administer semi-monthly payroll.
  • Support employee engagement plans, employee recognition programs and human resource programs to foster an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Evaluate pay scales and performance reviews in collaboration with departmental managers.
  • Address employee grievances.
  • Coordinate steps to disciplinary actions with departmental managers regarding breaches of company policies and regulations.
  • Manage company events such as company meetings, employee travel, community outreach, etc.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (preferred), Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years HR experience, preferably in a distribution, construction, or manufacturing environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
