Human Resources Manager

Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for a wide variety of human resources (HR) functions by managing recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, leadership development, employee relations, and other generalist responsibilities. This individual will work closely with local operations managers as well as Human Resources Managers at our other facilities. This role will report directly to the General Manager and work on-site at our cultivation facility in Anna, IL. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Extend offers, owning negotiations and candidate feedback.
  • Manage onboarding, payroll, benefits, personnel management, and other HR functions.
  • Maintain HR systems and processes.
  • Own communication for HR activities and efforts, serving as the main point of contact for candidates, employees, and leadership.
  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, transfers, changes to pay, etc.
  • Recommended best practices, reviewing policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support and conduct performance and salary reviews.
  • Provide disciplinary action and termination of employees as necessary in accordance with company policy.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for managers.
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of human resources experience required, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field required.
  • iSolved or other HRIS experience preferred.
  • ATS experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, compliance, performance management, and employee labor relations experience required.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience managing multiple pipelines simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration abilities and willingness to work closely with departmental managers to achieve initiatives.
  • Solid communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with broad groups of people.
  • Proven ability to enforce company policies and practices.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Genuine interest, appreciation, and passion for the cannabis industry and consumers.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to successfully register as an agent in state’s cannabis commission.
  • Must adhere to all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.
