JOB DESCRIPTION:

The HR Assistant is responsible for handling employee relations dealing with onboarding and offboarding, payroll, benefits, and document control for employee files. This will require leadership and high levels of time management skills. Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, detail-oriented individuals. Quality communication skills will be required to effectively coordinate with management and employee needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The HR Assistant will be required to perform the following tasks:

• Onboard new employees with setup within Paychex, EVerify, Sage Payroll, etc.
• Offboard employees within the appropriate systems, provide documentation for management review
• Set up benefits for eligible employees
• Run queries for the review process, provide information to managers to conduct reviews
• Process weekly payroll for field employees
• Maintain documentation of employee information to readily provide to supervisors and managers
• Communicate time off requests to the appropriate supervisors for approval
• Run various weekly, monthly, and annual reports for management and safety personnel
• Maintain and document critical communication with employees and management
• Create, maintain and employee files
• Build positive relationships with office and field staff
• Be point of contact for all employees with questions or concerns related to employment, benefits, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by management

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong ability to multitask
• Maintain a professional working relationship with employees and management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of basic computer programs in a Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook), and on-line collaboration tools.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (in order of preference):

• Bilingual - Preferred
• 4 years of Human Resources experience - Preferred
