Pulaski Community School District is Hiring a School Nutrition Coordinator Near Pulaski, WI

Job Goal: School Nutrition Coordinator in the coordination of the Food Services Department and to ensure a quality school nutrition program that is cost effective and self-sustaining.

Essential Job Functions:

Food Service Job Functions:

  • Complies with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to commercial food service and school nutrition programs.
  • Employs professional management techniques to maintain an effective and efficient school nutrition program operation.
  • Develops short and long-term goals for the school nutrition program that supports the philosophy and policies of the board of education.
  • Assists Director to establish and implement budgeting and financial management systems to meet financial goals and objectives for the program.
  • Assists director to provide a cost effective operation in maintain, promote and advance the school nutrition program)
  • Assist to direct the operation of the school nutrition program to provide a cost effective program.
  • Assists with designing and planning for an appropriate and efficient facility that ensures high quality customer service, wholesome food production, and simplified workflow.
  • Determines equipment needs and specifications consistent with budget and constraints.
  • Recruits and hires and supervises food service personnel
  • Performs annual evaluation for all food service personnel.
  • Establishes standards for the professional growth of the district’s school nutrition personnel.
  • An accurate submission for meal claims to DPI on a monthly bases
  • Financial Management of faculty, staff and student lunch accounts.
  • Provide point of sale training for required staff during breakfast and lunch service.
  • Balance cash drawers and registers daily. Maintain regards for cash receipts
  • Updating prices in POS system.
  • Assist with staffing issues, which could include a working role.
  • Assist in monthly commodity forecasting and procurement.
  • Performs job functions in an ethical manner as defined by the district.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in dietary or food service related program, preferred
  • Familiarity with laws and codes related to food service operation, and federal school breakfast and lunch program requirements
  • Experience with food service management, preferred
  • Experience with supervision of personnel
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and common office software programs
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated skills in maintaining thorough and accurate records and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated accuracy in advanced business math skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting; must be a self-starter
  • Strong skills in the operation of general office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers, copy/fax machines and calculators
  • Strong skills in the use of common office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, data management and presentation software
  • Ability to create and use data for maintaining department records
  • Demonstrated skills in positive human relations and cultural competence
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict management
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • work collaboratively
  • carry out emergency/crisis response procedures
  • perform all computer technology tasks associated with the position
  • maintain confidentiality
  • communicate positively/effectively with students, parents, staff, patrons
  • Commitment to the Pulaski Board of Education Educational Philosophy
  • Current First Aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
