ROLE OVERVIEW

The Business Development team at TechChange looks after sales, marketing, and proposal development globally. We’re a small but mighty team of smart, committed, curious, ethics-driven go-getters, and we’re looking for our next team member!

The Business Development Manager will report to the VP of Business Development, and will be supporting all of the core functions of BD across both core business lines: education & training as well as conferences & events. We are looking for someone who is keen to jump in and get their hands dirty in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, cross-cultural environment. This role is like a ‘survey course’ of BD fundamentals: it includes research, analysis, project/proposal management, outreach & recruitment, sales support, marketing collateral development, data wrangling, and systems/tool optimization.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hungry international development BD professional to contribute at a strategic and operational level to an exciting, dynamic social enterprise with an enviable reputation in the sector.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Business Development Research:
    1. Key account research to identify strategic areas for partnership and support
    2. Stakeholder mapping of key accounts to help the BD team and CEO understand critical relationships within each account
    3. Develop lists for outreach to facilitate prospecting efforts
  2. Proposal Support
    1. Identify promising new business opportunities via Devex and GSA tools
    2. Perform initial go/no go analysis
    3. Play a proposal management role for large, complex proposals
    4. Conduct Subject Matter Expert/partner research & outreach
    5. Update cap statements and proposal templates with best-in-class examples
  3. Marketing & Sales Support
    1. Join sales calls and support with strategic follow-up to keep opportunities moving
    2. Support with contracting and procurement, in collaboration with the CFO
    3. Update product marketing assets (website, collateral) as our offerings evolve to meet market needs
    4. Conduct email marketing research to identify how we might optimize our campaigns
  4. Data, Systems & Analytics
    1. Harmonize and optimize tools being used for sales and marketing support (Notion, Consider, MailChimp, Monday.com)
    2. Be our resident CRM champion: help us leverage the full feature suite, as well as help us improve data entry and hygiene
    3. Build and maintain data dashboards that help the Leadership team get a clear picture of the state of the pipeline
    4. Help the BD team leverage state of the art AI tools to augment our BD performance

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of experience in international development in any role, ideally BD, operations, communications or program management
