Position Title: Banquet Captain (Supervisor)

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: Banquet Manager

Supervises: Banquet Staff

Position Summary: The position is responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager with the execution of catered events, which includes coordinating with the catering and culinary teams to ensure all guest expectations are met. The Banquet Staff will also be expected to go above and beyond to deliver memorable events, while bringing a high level of energy and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent in appropriate experience
• Two or more years’ experience in a similar position
• Ability to work scheduled hours including, when necessary, holidays and weekends
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, crouching, and crawling throughout the course of the job
• Being on your feet for an extended period of time

  • Responsible for training of all Banquet Staff on event and catering procedures
  • Confirming contracts include accurate quantity, location(s), food type, and timing details
  • Impeccable service and social perceptiveness
  • Ability to evaluate guest satisfaction and responsiveness
  • Carefully following all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service
  • Slowing and refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary
  • Continually seek to enhance knowledge and skills related to service
  • Maintaining self-awareness of members’, management and peers

• Assumes responsibility for the department by:
  • Assisting management in maintaining proper inventory levels
  • Maintaining banquet and storage areas in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
  • Communicating with the Banquet Operations Manager and the Banquet Staff concerning ongoing projects
