The Monarch San Antonio - A Legacy of Service and Sophistication

The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Summary

The Overnight Cook will ensure that all food preparation and kitchen operations during the overnight shift meet the high standards expected of a 5-star hotel. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, efficiency, and a passion for culinary excellence.

Essential Functions

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to the hotel’s recipes and standards.
• Manage overnight kitchen operations, including stock rotation, inventory monitoring, and kitchen organization.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and culinary team to maintain seamless handovers for morning shifts.
• Monitor food production to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
• Adapt to last-minute requests or changes while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Uphold the hotel’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences through attention to detail and professionalism.
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in luxury hotels, fine dining, or high-volume establishments.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and maintain high energy and focus.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with effective communication skills.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
• Food Handler Certification Required
