Position Overview
The Pool Bartender is responsible for delivering energetic, efficient, and engaging beverage service in a resort pool environment. This role prepares and serves cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages while creating a relaxed, fun, and elevated guest experience. The Pool Bartender supports the overall pool atmosphere through speed, personality, and responsible service.
Essential Functions
Beverage Preparation and Service
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and presentation of all beverages.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of pool menu offerings and seasonal features.
- Provide timely service in a high-volume outdoor environment.
Guest Experience and Engagement
- Engage guests with friendly, upbeat, and professional hospitality.
- Anticipate guest needs and maintain awareness of the pool area.
- Support a fun, welcoming, and elevated poolside atmosphere.
- Serve as a positive ambassador of the pool experience.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and surrounding areas.
- Follow opening and closing procedures accurately.
- Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly.
- Monitor inventory levels and restock bar supplies as needed.
Teamwork and Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with pool servers, attendants, and leadership.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Demonstrate reliability, urgency, and attention to detail.
- Accept coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service laws and company policies.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Be mindful of guest safety in and around the pool area.
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by pool leadership.
- Maintain availability for weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience required, preferably in a resort or high-volume environment.
- Strong cocktail knowledge and speed of service.
- Outgoing personality and strong guest service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in an outdoor, fast paced environment.
- Food and Alcohol Service Certifications required.
