This is a litigation focused opportunity for an associate who enjoys sophisticated legal writing, rigorous issue analysis, and advocacy at the appellate level. The role is based in Seattle with an in office expectation of five days per week.
The firm offers a full service national platform and a collaborative, partner led environment where associates are integrated into core case teams. Matters are typically complex and commercially significant, with opportunities to work across jurisdictions and alongside trial teams on strategy and dispositive motion practice.
The Opportunity
Support appellate and trial teams through brief writing, researching and developing legal arguments, preserving issues for appeal, and preparing advocates for oral argument. The practice includes direct exposure to strategy discussions on significant motions and appeals in state and federal courts nationwide.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a 2nd to 5th year Appellate Litigation Associate with:
- 2 to 5 years of civil litigation experience with strong motion practice and writing responsibilities
- Prior or current federal or state appellate court clerkship experience
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Admission to, or eligibility to waive into, the Washington State Bar or Oregon State Bar
