Technical Operator
Location: Calabasas, CA
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Job Type: Contract
Shift Differential:
- Afternoon Shift: Additional $0.50/hour
- Night Shift: Additional $0.75/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, manufacturing LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) products, performing quality inspections, and supporting production goals in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and monitor manufacturing and assembly equipment.
- Manufacture LSR cushion products while meeting production targets.
- Perform assembly operations according to approved procedures and work instructions.
- Conduct quality inspections on incoming materials and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, GMP requirements, and workplace safety policies.
- Support daily production schedules and adapt to changing business needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 5S practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Assist with training and development of team members.
- Follow all manual handling, quality, and safety procedures.
- Perform daily and periodic equipment setup and maintenance activities.
Technical Responsibilities
- Perform silicone drum changes.
- Clean and perform minor polishing of molding tools.
- Troubleshoot molding machines, automation robots, glue line assembly equipment, and packaging lines.
- Reset molding machines and robotic systems when required.
- Assist with tooling changeovers and technical setups.
- Support general production and operator duties as needed.
- Work flexible schedules and shifts based on business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Medical device manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, work instructions, and bills of materials.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Experience using common hand tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to recognize component defects and quality issues.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to distinguish colors accurately.
- Experience using hand trucks or material handling equipment.
- Ability to safely lift, pack, and move materials according to established guidelines.
