Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager– Family Office (Miami - Brickell Area)
A Family Office based in Miami, Florida, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and detailed Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager with strong accounting skills to work alongside the CFO & Senior Controller on a wide variety of tasks. The candidate will be hard working with a hands-on mentality. The ability to maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality is a must.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Download transaction detail from online bank and brokerage accounts. Reconcile activity and balances to internal systems
- Monitor and track investment activity – NAV Statements, K-1's, capital call and distribution notices
- Ensure cash activity and valuation updates are properly recorded
- Work with CFO, Senior Controller and other stakeholders including family members. attorneys, tax accountants, brokers, and bankers
- Manage accounts payable process
- Assist with managing payroll and benefits
- Ad-Hoc projects as necessary
Skills Required:
- Degree in finance or accounting
- CPA preferred
- Familiarity with the alternative investment industry (Hedge Fund/Private Equity) - Including operations, accounting, legal documents, fund structures, and compliance considerations.
- Comfortable interacting and communicating with C-Level professionals, both internally and externally
- Reconciliation experience
- Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities
- Fund Accounting (PE/Hedge Fund) Experience preferred
Systems:
- Advanced Excel skills required
- QuickBooks Online experience highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Bill.com and/or Expensify a big plus
- Advent Axys experience a big plus
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
