We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading blueprints, cutting, shaping, and assembling steel components to construct frameworks for buildings, bridges, and other structures. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel beams, columns, and plates using tools such as saws, shears, torches, and CNC machines.
- Assemble and weld steel components according to design specifications.
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., overhead cranes, forklifts) to move materials.
- Inspect fabricated pieces for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on fabrication tools and equipment.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Collaborate with welders, engineers, and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator or similar role.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong welding skills (MIG, TIG, or Stick welding certifications a plus).
- Familiarity with fabrication tools (e.g., plasma cutters, grinders, drills).
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
- Knowledge of steel grades, measurements, and industry standards (e.g., AWS, AISC).
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (50 lbs).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
Work Environment:
- Workshop or construction site setting.
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying temperatures.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required.
